About Dr. Alicia Derby,

I earned my Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 2007 after earning a Masters in 2001. I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Portland State University. Orthopedics, Women's Health, Pediatrics and Geriatrics are areas of extra training and of special interest to me.

I spent five weeks in an extensive training program at the Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China in 2001 and returned to Chengdu, China for further education in 2007. I have traveled as well to Japan, Mexico and Hawaii to further my training. My integrative approach to acupuncture supports a comprehensive medical philosophy whereby Western and Chinese Medicine complement each other.

In addition to running my practice in Eugene I was employed by the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland from 2018 - 2022. I was the Chair of the Doctoral Clinic and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to teach the Doctoral students.

I am currently working on a new project to help improve the quality of life for my patients, both current and future. Please stay tuned as I hope to share details about this soon.

Outside of my practice, I live a very active lifestyle, pursuing activities such as dancing, hiking and running. I enjoy reading, meditating, traveling and spending time with my adult daughters, my grandson and my two dogs.

I am licensed by the state of Oregon and accredited by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology.

Your unique health care situation is of the utmost importance to me. I am happy to answer any questions you may have regarding how acupuncture and Chinese medicine can benefit you. Together we can work toward achieving your health and wellness goals.
